  • I originally had some GHD's which lasted me a good few years until they caught fire  So i rushed to Curry's and bought a cheap pair for about £15. They were terrible!! After doing a some research on the net as to which cheaper ones were good, I bough some Babyliss Pro 230 straighteners. They were £40 and am really really pleased with them :)

Well why didn't you just say..............

Advice on the best brand of hair straightners EXCEPT GHD:rolleyes:

I didn't ask for advice about the best hair straighteners...I asked some specific questions so I could work out for myself what would be best for me ;) and you still haven't offered me the benefit of your experience.

Thanks very much to everyone who has spared the time to give me some really useful information. I really want a pair that does wet to dry because I can hardly bring myself to use a hair dryer at the moment so the chances of having time to do both are exceedingly slim! anyone found any apart from the Remington wet to dry? (£60) I cn't find the Kodo wet to dry ones so if anyone has a link that would be appreciated.

:T keep the info coming girls (and I notice Kodo do hair straighteners for men!!)

i highly recommend the remington wet 2 straight straighteners, i have the s8202 model purchased from amazon back in november for just £25.50 inc p&p but at the moment they're out of stock. There are others available on there though.

i had long thick hair and they worked brilliantly!, even my sister in law who's ghd's broke thought they were impressive so i bought her some for xmas and she still raves on about them and how it knocks off 15 mins of her straightening everyday! lol.

i now have short hair (pob) and because the plates are so big i can't use them anymore so i have reverted back to my babyliss thin ones just for the back of my hair where it's shorter and then my remington ones for the longer length at the front.

i wouldn't advise you to use on wet wet hair as it can get very hot and maybe burn you, but to use on part dried hair and definately use a heat protection spray.

have a look at amazon.co.uk and read the reviews

i also highly recommend the corioliss straighteners as previously mentioned, they're really good especially the c2 ones, however they're a bit more pricey. check on ebay for them

They were recommended to me by 1 of my step dd's, she's 16 and her hair has to be perfect! She has tried out all the makes (inc GHD) but these are the ones she comes back to every time.
They are not for use on wet hair but they have varible temp up to 230 degrees.
My friend got wet to dry straightners and they have dried her hair out (not sure what brand) when i questioned her on what heat protector she used she was very vague - so she may not have used any!

Do an Ebay search on "Kodo wet", and you'll find numerous Kodo wet to dry straighteners.

If it helps, they seem to be termed "wet to straight", rather than "wet to dry".
