Help with Tesco online extra points

I bought 2 vouchers from eBay 1000 points extra for a £50 spend and another 1000 extra points for a £75 spend.
So obviously I thought I would order £125 worth of wine for free delivery and grab the extra points of 2000, guess what, the both codes went into my check out but a notice showed that the above evouchers couldn't be used for this order.

I thought I had been greedy using both vouchers, so I reduced the wine to £60 still the vouchers showed in checkout but again warned that these vouchers could not be used for this order.

I phoned Tesco wine help line, but I was told that I couldn't use them because they were in someone else’s name, so why are there so many for sale on eBay and other people have had no problems with them? The seller told me that I wouldn't have a problem with them because they can be passed around.

Anyone have any ideas? Like mentioned these vouchers are sitting in my checkout but unable to use?

Are they long 12 digit codes? If so, they can only be used once, so if they have been used already before you bought them, you wont be able to use them.

Can you copy & paste to show exactly what is in your checkout?

After leaving the above thread, I decided to try once more but to phone the order through, I put a £55 wine order in and the Tesco guy told me that he has added the two vouchers for 1000 each that were sitting in my account!
Therefore, amazingly I spent £60 (with delivery) but got 2000 extra points which will be added when the wine is delivered on Tuesday.

What really confused me is that one of the vouchers were 1000 extra points for a £75 spend, so I have no idea how I managed to get the 2 vouchers added (that's if it does work) I had him confirm that 2000 was getting added on my card. So a £60 shop gave me a £80 in deals!

Doubt I could do that again!:T
