no idea whats a good make or recomended. please help , needed for my hubbys birthday gift.

Just go to google shopping - http://www.google.co.uk/prdhp?hl=en&tab=wf
and stick in 'digital binoculars' take a look at what is available in your price range and write a few model numbers down. Then stick the models into normal google with 'review' after it and have a look to see what reviews there are.
Finally go back to google shopping and stick in the exact model you want, to get the best price.
