Harsh, and sympathies. The people that done the big deals walk away with a big bonus, the board leave with a wedge, the staff who in my experience are second to none in the industry are the ones that pay!!

Possible, but not likely IMO. They need the Branch network to bring in the savings deposits and the (reduced) mortgage business.
Most job cuts will, hopefully, be through natural wastage and voluntary packages.0
