when taking out a loan?

u know how when u apply for a loan it asks your current work details, well does anyone know if they ever actually contact your place of work to check up on you...dont want to think that everyone knows my business!!!:confused:

    They might do a google search to see if the place actually exists and if they are concerned they might ask to see payslips.

    Usually it is just to confirm that you are employed by a real company and haven't just made something up on a fraudulent application.

  • If it is a larger lending company they most likely will check out your credentials. Now the banks want to know more about you before they give you money.
  • Also note that if your account falls behind and the company cannot reach you on your home number they may attempt to contact you on your work number.

    Personally i'd give them it but ask them to remove it once the finance is active.
