                    Hi All,
This is my first time on here, but I would really appreciate some advice asap.
I have mortgage with NR which I have been paying by direct debit with no problems. Recently I changed the Direct Debit account I wished to pay it from, from my account to a joint account, I received a letter from NR saying this had been completed and the first payment of my monthly amount would go out on the first of next month. However, on my most recent bank statement the Direct Debit for my mortgage was taken out and then put back in again by NR with the reference "unpaid direct debit" (I assume that this is a returned direct debit, I am unsure as I have never had one before!!!!) This was despite there being enough funds in my account (I have an overdraft facility of -1500 and wasn't in the red at the time of DD being taken, not that that matters anyway!!) I don't have any charges on my statement or anything, just this weird amount being paid back to me.
I haven't received any calls/letters from NR and this happened at the start of the month, I rarely check my statements online or at the machine as they are usually in order in problem free. I am a little concerned about what has happened here, this is my first house and I'm worried about the consequences of what looks like being a missed mortgage payment, i.e. credit rating etc. I have the funds available to call and make the payment tomorrow, but just a little perplexed as to why the DD system seems to have failed.
I would be really greatful for any advice on what I can do.
Matt

It may have been recalled due to change in bank account.
