Thomas, when I did use Free Agent I got masses of Spam. Have you found a way to avoid this?

Sorry to hijack the thread, I toyed with the idea of starting a new one, but thought adding to this one was better etiquette.

    Hello

I didn't install AVG anti-virus on my PC, the other half did and he's not able to help with this problem unfortunately.

Every time I start up my pc I get this:

    Untitled-1copy-1.jpg

I've tried to uninstall it, but I just get this:

    Untitled-2copy.jpg

    and

    Untitled-3copy.jpg

When I tried to delete the dfile from my C drive, I got:
    Untitled-4copy.jpg

Any suggestions welcome. Please bear in mind I am not technically advanced.

    Many thanks

Hi, you don't get loads of spam because of Agent, you get the spam from your POP3 email server. There are lots of ways to configure spam filter/ killfile in Agent. It would take me ages to type the different configerations, but if you go to a spam message, then go to message at the top of the program, then filters, then kill filter. It will give you plenty of options from the "paste field" tab. Once you set-up these filters, most of the spam will be deleted before you see it.

Albertross, please accept my apologies I had not noticed there was a page 2. I may come back to you re your suggestions but in the meantime, after doing System Restore, my computer is working fine.

Thomas99, just remembered, I was unable to use Agent with AOL. When I first installed it I was with Freeserve (seems a long time ago). These days I have realised that when it comes to forums I have enough with MSE, BBC Talk and Allotments4all and there are nicer people using them. Using Agent, especially for Cardiology in which I am very interested (bad ticker) there were some awful slanging matches. I realise I can still read it via Google of course.
