I bought a Vistron which then developed problems and had to go back to ebuyer, who were great. However when it went wrong I did some research and found nothing anywhere about the manufacturer, who they were or where I could contact them.
Personally not again. I bought a Hyundai for not much more and was surprised at how much better the picture was in comparison.0 -
My aunty asked me to help her find a cheap 32" LCD TV last week. Found a
Toshiba 32'' 32C3035D Freeview HD Ready at Play.com for £429.99.
The bargain is she got a free stand. I have the 37" version of this
TV which I paid £800 for last year I also payed £150 for the stand.Became Mrs Lawson on May 1st 2010

hi, in my opinion if you are buying a 32 lcd tv on a budget then this will do fine. for me i think you will need to pay over £800 if you realy do want one with good specs etc. in my opinion anything between £300 and £700 there is not much difference in any of them so u might as well go for the cheapest!
also there is a massive step up in price from 37" to 40", so unless you specificaly want 40" then go for this 37" for £369.95 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/126887
no freeview (can buy for about £10) but hd (720p) will look better!

nice find!
This is a good find but I do disagree with the above post with only regard to the price range. You'll find that Toshiba/Panasonic/Samsung TVs are vastly superior (based on reviews/personal comments on TV geeky forums/even warranties) and they also fit into the sub £700 price range.
I strongly believe there is a large difference between a £300 TV and a £600 branded TV. However the real proof will be when you make the purchase of either and realise. If i was in this position again I would pay the extra £100-120 and get a branded TV, potentially with a free longer warranty that could pay for itself if and when it breaks down.0 -
Disagree the prices have dropped since Xmas, and there are loads of top brands £400 to £500 and those without Freeview will plumet as next year they switch analogue Granadaland OFF:D ( + virtually the whole West coast of England +Wales) Strangely Bristol gets a stay of execution.hi, in my opinion if you are buying a 32 lcd tv on a budget then this will do fine. for me i think you will need to pay over £800 if you realy do want one with good specs etc. in my opinion anything between £300 and £700 there is not much difference in any of them.ac's lovechild0 -

Hi guys
Ref: Vistron DB32-SD 32" HD Ready TV, £299.99 delivered
I have about £700 to buy a new TV and PC. This TV looks great but ive been doing a bit of research online and just wanted some thoughts on the below combo.
Note: I would like to use my TV as a normal TV but use PC (Via Vista Home Premium) to record TV/Movies etc. Would also like to run the new GTA4 game on this when it comes out. Im thinking of 26" beacuse as I will be using it as a PC Monitor aswell a 32" might be to big. Anthing ive missed?
PC: HP Pavilion Slimline s3240 (£352.94)
http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk/shop/detail.asp?ProductID=4530&CategoryID=142&SubCategoryID=
TV: LG 26LC2R (26") = £333.60 (Including Delivery)
http://www.pricerunner.co.uk/pl/2-581618/TVs/LG-26LC2R-Compare-Prices
Total = Approx £700
Would this be a good buy? Anyone know of a better TV/PC for the money? Just thinking that getting an LG might be a safer buy than a "Vistron" or a "Sense" brand.
Regards

I just wanted to point out to those who may not be fully aware, a tv listed as "up to 1080i" is almost certainly one that will accept a 1080i signal and downscale it (ie reduce the resolution and therefore picture quality) to 720p or sometime 768p. This isn't a question of 1080i v 1080p, it's 720p v 1080p
Having said that, 720p/768p is still very good and it's not neccessarily the case that it'll be noticeably worse than a 1080p TV. I just think it's worth pointing out that it's not as close as the OP states. The tech specs will usually tell you the resolution of the TV, it's the last number you need to look for, ie **** x 768, if it also states it can display 1080i, then it'll be downscaled as a TV can only display an image at it's maximum resolution.0 -
