My 2 year fixed rate is about to expire in september - my question is this. I want to get the best deal on my current property NOW, but in a few months time I may possibly want to move to a bigger house - so I don't want redemption penalties - is there a path someone could recommend me,i.e, types of mortgage that would suit,etc,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The options are that you go to your existing lenders retention department and find out the best penalty free, no entry cost product they can offer you and that you can ask a broker to find you the best no fees product available and ideally has low/no exit charge in case you want to get the best on the market when you buy bigger.

It can be done, but when you are going for a Free Legals deal with a lender it can get drawn out to several weeks just for the legal process. Therefore, you would want to ensure that you have completed on that mortgage by the time you move. Mainly for the effort put in to taking the mortgage. However, if you haven't paid anything to get in, you haven't lost it have you!?
