I have looked on so many sites which sell Sat Nav's all are reasonably priced now, but they're are so many and they all offer so many different features. All I want is something which will get me from A-B and giving the quickest/shortest options, 'detect' speed cameras, and some other features. My brother has a garmin i tried using it but it told me to turn once i had gone past the turning point.
Also, are there any Sat Nav's which costs nothing to upgrade??
Thanks in advanced

the navigo from ebuyer is hard to beat for the money (£50). The supplied software (turbodog) is ok(ish) but it will also run tomtom (which is much better). It also plays video, audio and picture files. I’ve got TT6 running with all the speed camera warnings and it seems fine.
Rumour has it that it can be unlocked in which case it will run and CE application you like. (I haven’t done this yet)0 -
ooh... I want a sat nav too, preferably a tom-tom but don't want to spend much over £100 (my car was free so treating myself to this!!)
Vaio - your post was a bit complicated - could you explain in laymans terms?!
Thanks
) Positive vibes:
Spending less than £100 on food shopping in May.
organising cheap/free days out with friends
Negative vibes:
Being £1100 in my overdraft

it does sat nav, plays all the standard type music files, plays all the standard type of video files, will display all types of photos and let you read e-books. All these are stored on the SD card.
Really, at the end of the day, just buy one. It’s only £50, it works straight out of the box with no fiddling about (but it is flexible enough to allow a bit of fiddling if you want to)0 -

Makro have a tom-tom on sale under £100.0 -
Toms toms are great.
My husband has the basic one, but hes going to upgrade & get the voice control one & give me his old one.
They are very user friendly.0 -
Don't buy a Tom Tom One. I bought mine back in October, and absolutely loved it, til it mysteriously stopped working - had two further exchanges, and all have broken.0

I get confused when the satnav tells me to go left and go right

Thank you very much tomtom but I can get lost by myself, I don't need your help. Just as well the boyfriend took it back so I'm back to the old map book. And I just love 'Googling' the route.
Honestly though I think I might buy myself one, one day. 0 -
The options:
1) Get a cheap satnav and use the loaded software. £65
2) Get a cheap satnav and put your old(or illegal) satnav software on it. £65
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131342
3) Get a more expensive satnav. The advantage is that you will be able to get legal software/map updates in the future because unlike other companies they actually support their satnavs, not just move on to the next model 6 months down the line. Tomtom/Garmin. £100+.
The decisions here are:
Do you want UK maps or are you likely to want Europe or USA aswell?(these can be bought afterwards but its normally cheaper to buy them from the outset)
Do you want bluetooth to use your satnav with your mobile as a handsfree?
Do you want 3.5"screen or a widescreen 4.3"?
