Am I due a tax refund

in Cutting tax
I was talking to someone at work recently and she found out that the place I work regualry overtaxes us by a little each year. Adding on the fact I was a student for 3 years and kept switching from F/T to P/T and back I am pretty certain I could get some tax refunded too.
I have all my payslips since I started that job in Feb '04 but want to know how to work out whether I can get a refund of not as it'll help towards my debts if I am owed one.
What do I do to work this out?

"A bank* is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather and ask for it back when it begins to rain."
(*Unless it's Santander. The branch says they sent you an umbrella 3 times already and don't understand why you don't have it yet and want it back right now!!!)

Workplaces have to work from tax codes and tax tables from HMRC. Pretty unlikely that they would overtax you.Adding on the fact I was a student for 3 years and kept switching from F/T to P/T and back I am pretty certain I could get some tax refunded too.
Your tax code would take this into account too. Did you change who you worked for?I have all my payslips since I started that job in Feb '04 but want to know how to work out whether I can get a refund of not as it'll help towards my debts if I am owed one.

Phone HMRC and ask if you are due a refund. Or post figures here and someone will tell you.0
