Cancelling Free Experian Credit Report

Hi,

I have an automatic card transaction set up for Experian for updates from Experian (I signed up for the free report, then forgot to cancel it = £6.99 per month).

Does anyone know the number to cancel the recouring card transaction?

Is it credit or debit card? If its debit cancel it with your bank.

Also, just email Experian and they will cancel the subscription as well contact the bank. I had my sub cancelled within 24 hours of emailing them.

What is the email address you need to use?? I was meant to cancel mine six months ago - stupidly i keep forgetting every month and every time i try to call them and cancel the number is busy - so six months later and still paying!!
  • I cancelled mine by phone - on the 29th day. They were very good and reminded me I still had access for the next 24 hours.

i forgot about this one as it's not a direct debit, just one of those irritating recurring payments, and it took me over my overdraft limit causing me to get a fee. grrrr and then i got a message from experian telling me i had some intersting stuff happening on my credit report! iroinc
i'm sooo gonna email them right now!

I emailed them to cancel my membership and they are refusing to do it via email.
I've explained I don't have a land line phone at the mo, and wouldn't feel comfortable calling from a payphone but they're still insisting they need to speak to me. I DO NOT want MORE Experian products.

A bank can't cancel a continuous credit or debit authorisation since there is nothing to cancel, you can only dispute each charge one by one. Also the service is subject to a contract, the contract needs to be terminated in the correct way - by contacting the other party.
