Pearl wedding anniversary- Ideas?

My parents have their 30th wedding anniversary on the 23rd March. Obviously, I would like to get them something as a present, but I am not sure what. I'd like it to be something which lasts and is suitable for mum and dad. Am a student so don't have much money. Any ideas? Thankyou

My ex and his sisters had a portrait taken of them all and had it framed as their gift. The cost wasn't that high once they had split it between them.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

From the suggestions that I got in other places looks to me the portrait is an obvious choice to be given to parents. However I have thought about presenting them with tickets to their most favored spot. I know this can be difficult to sponsor for those who are students or have just stepped into their careers but for the people to whom I owe everything this is my small token. Hope they like it.0

how about a photoframe that is mother-of-pearl. The you can put a picture you like in it - perhaps one of them when they were younger. Debenhams had some in last time I was there and they were sub£30.
Alternatively, for my parents 30th wedding anniversary I bought them a rose named for the occassion. will find the weblink for you....be back in a moment....
this is the one http://www.countrygardenroses.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=Pearl-Anniversary&cat=58
great if they have a garden, but also great for on a balcony or patio
hope this helps xr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Thanks for the ideas. I think Dad has bought Mum a flower which has pearl in the name. A photo frame sounds like an idea - I'll have to find a nice photo of them both.0

What about a crystal ornament? Have seen a oyster with the pearl nestling in the centre.............gorgeous!! Samuels or similar do them.

hi, my parents are celebrating their pearl anniversary this october, and one of the presents id thought of, was on a website such as photobox you can produce a hardback book full of photos, so i was going to try and sneak some of their old photos (wedding day, me and my sis as babies etc) and scan them into my pc, and get photobox to make this book.
You choose the photos, captions, backgrounds etc
this is the link

think its £20 for a 26 page book plus p&p
other photo sites do these aswell, so it might be worth shopping around for any deals.
hope this has helped?Helen
