Barbie laptop -faulty, need advice

Hi all
I purchased a Barbie laptop for my daughter couple of weeks before the last catalogue ended. She really has treated the laptop with respect and really looked after it (minus a couple of scratches on the plastic with normal play)
Playing with it today with her and I noticed a couple of number keys and one letter key isnt working. I paid £45 for this laptop and I'm not very impressed with that! I've checked the new catalogue and they still sell the laptop (exclusive to argos) but in a different colour. (not sure if it was exclusive to argos in the last catalogue)
THIS ONE
I havnt got the receipt or the original packaging and was wondering if anyone had any advice how I should approach them as the staff in my local argos store are not very helpful, if not a bit rude!! I was thinking of phoning them first. I have a broken ankle and don't want to go all the way and argue and stand around in the shop about it because I'm not very steady on my crutches yet!!
Any adivce appreciated about customer's rights etc
cheers;)

If you paid on a credit or debit card then you can show them your statement as proof of purchase. If not then phone up, ask to speak to the manager, and i'm sure it will be fine to get a replacement. (I worked in Argos and it happened a lot.)0

Nope paid cash as my daughter saved her pennies for it (and I topped up)- bless. Will give them a ring, thanks

Or you could try and argue with them. The company policy is that if you do not have a receipt they can refuse to do anything. But if you try and haggle with them it might work or you could try and contact the manufacturer directly.
I know loads of people who get by with haggling with the manager.
Hope that helps0
