Hi there

I have a wedding in September and am looking for a stunning dress. As I'm not too familiar with Belfast is there is any stylish shops/boutiques that I should visit when I go?

Thanks

Sunni

  • there's Karen Millen always have some lovely clothes in (though they can be pricy with dresses about 100-150 or you can't beat a wander round Debenhams in Castlecourt as they have loads of different designers which can be more reasonably priced and every bit as lovely. :)

    Sunni,

Book an appointment with the personal shopper in Debenhams, it doesn't cost anything (or didn't the last time I used the service, so check)
It is really useful. You get a nice little room to try everything on in privacy. The PS will ask what event you are going to, what colours and styles you like and then will go and bring outfits for you to try on. I found it useful because she brought me things in styles/colours I wouldn't normally wear and nothing was too much trouble for her, there was no hard sell either. Also the girl (sorry can't remember her name) was impartial as well, if something didn't suit she would tell me so.
It saved me a lot of time and stress. Also treat your self to a make over at one of the beauty counters. Again if you tell them you are looking for ideas for a wedding most are willing to do a quick make over.
My favourite for this is a girl called Fiona who works on the Estee Lauder counter in Boots in Donegall Place or else the Benefit counter in Debenhams are also usually very willing to do it.

Thanks Supersaver and Sandollar. Will definitely be calling at Karen Millen even though its expensive. Love the clothes there.

Didn't know Debenhams done that service with a personal shopper. Great idea and sounds like fun! Am tempted with the make over as well :D

Looking forward to going now and thanks again for your help.

Try Lisburn, its becoming quite good for shopping.. not sure about dresses though, not something I tend to wear too often!

If you have a few quid head to the top of the Lisburn Rd. There are loads of boutiques there.

Since this is a money saving site I would suggest keeping an eye out in T K Maxx - they sometimes get great formal gear in ... you just have to be in the right place at the right time.

Wallis always has stylish clothes they have a section in Debenhams and also a shop just off Royal Avenue. Their prices aren't too bad either.
