    Hi Missimaxo

My husband has been on the receiving end of this situ. luckily all invoices were upto date but it is always the little guy who gets left out, the top of the list is always the bank or HMRC (PAYE by the way)

The other thing I wanted to tell you was we know the OR has not approached the current tennant as we know him, why doesnt he work his way down the list ie assets with the most value first or is it easiest first. Not meant offensively to you and I appreciate your views. This forum needs people who are in the know, even if we think its unfair ... thats life :)

Don't ever forget that these people are bureaucrats who never have to live in the real world. They hide behind the power of their organisation, and their job descriptions, and the only satisfaction they can achieve is by intimidating vulnerable people, in the hope that they'll get a pat on the back.

Never known a down to earth farmer's daughter like me not to live in the real world, all the cow muck in the yard tends to make sure that you are ;)

It is a job, and as with all jobs you do get the good and the bad, but in my experience the good staff outweigh the bad. I was a 'nice' examiner, who was often thanked for being so understanding. Yes, I have made people cry during interviews, but usually for being kind to them when they weren't expecting it.

I feel that people from "the dark side" can be invaluable to a forum like this, but sweeping generalisations make me less inclined to do so.

It really depends on the value, taking into accounts agents fees who would have to go out and value/retrieve/sell the asset at auction. Unfortunately, auction prices are a lot less, so depending on the asset it may have been a judgement call as to whether it was worth doing anything with it.

    Missimaxo & JCS1,

On reflection, my comments were an over generalisation, and as you point out there are good and bad in all organisations. Most of my working life has been spent either running our own businesses, or working in commercial organisations, with the exception of 3years or so working in the public sector.

Maybe it's those 3years that have unfairly skewed my judgement, but during that time I have seen so many abuses of power and privilege, and the victimisation of those not in a position to defend themselves, that I feel more than a little cynical about the public sector.

That's not to say I haven't seen hard working and conscientious staff, and I should perhaps have taken a more balanced view. I'm not apologising for the posts I've made, because they accurately reflect my experiences. More of an explanation, I think.:D

We all make comments sometimes that tar everyone in an organisation or profession with the same brush. I do, especially with the DWP, tax credits office and the child support agency ! - and that too is based on my own working experience.

Sometimes I hear on here that " the CAB " has let someone down or sometimes " they were useless ! " but I dont take it as an attack on me personally, the poster was on that occassion probably right in their comments.

Whilst its right to speak up if you feel your profession is being challenged, dont take it personally, and keep posting, your advice is very valuable.
