I have had the same letter today from Cabot, but I have never had anything from Morgan Stanley about Goldfish, is it worth doing a CCA request or should I contact Cabot? I was paying Morgan Stanley agreed £5 per month.
Thanks0 -

When did you originally take out the account?
Most that were started after about 2004/5 are much more likely to have a CCA because the banks tightened up. But it's likely Cabot would still have to request it from MS.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

thanks fermi, I think I will send it off, nothing to lose. I am just surprised that I have heard nothing from Morgan Stanley about assigning the debt over to Goldfish0

Goldfish are the new name for MS I think. So they hadn't passed it on.
Last time I checked Companies House, it listed Goldfish as:

I had a phone call from Cabot this morning, they are putting my account on hold for a couple of weeks whilst I wait on Morgan Stanley to reply to my letter asking if they have sold the debt on. I was offered a reduced settlement by Cabot. £1055 on a debt of £1205. I can pay over 3 months. I might be able to get some money together but not that much. I'll offer alot less than that once I get confirmation from Morgan Stanley.0

Hi everyone. I have just had a call from CABOT and got confused with the Goldfish bit. I have got a Morgan Stanley card and they confirmed that they had bought the debt from them. I have been paying £5 a month by standing order to Morgan Stanley/Goldfish and Cabot advised me to stop that and they are sending me a new direct debit mandate to pay direct to Cabot. I also did not receive any notification from the credit card company that my debt was being sold on, so i guess that is pretty standard. Guy from Cabot seemed pretty friendly and he dialled from an 0800 number, otherwise I would not have picked it up...im being hounded to death by an 0870 number which I believe is something to do with barclaycard, cant remember whole number but it ends in 3492. Just got it blocked by BT !0

Hello folks,
1. Do you mind me asking how long you had been in a DMP with Goldfish or Morgan STanley before they sold the debt to Caboot?
2. Where you being charged any interest on the debt with goldfish/caboot?
3. Where your payments low in ration to the debt owed?
Cheers0
