world book day voucher

Has anyone had this experience when redeeming this coupon.
Went to Tesco to buy new Jacqueline Wilson book for DD using the £1 off world book day voucher book cost £7 so was going to use a few other moc but was handed the other back as too much to redeem as the wbd voucher scanned for £5.11 got my others daughters and that definitely has 100 as the last 3 but last numbers .
Wasn't into coupons last year but would these work against your shopping like other coupons or do you have to buy book?

The coupon starts 99 doesn't it? so it should scan against anything. We have one coupopn in our house, I will have to try it today in Tesco0

A couple of people on PTS mentioned that theirs scanned at £5.11 too. Not sure why though?
Mine have scanned at £1.0 -
My seond voucher went through at £5.11 last night, but the SA spotted it and changed it to a £1 discount and said that he would get penalised as his till would 'be out' if he let it go through.
I hadn't bought a book, so didn't say too much, £1 off is OK with me!Your = belongs to you
