Thanks very much mirrorimage0, I have already had a look at leighroadcakes last week and thought they were very reasonable and nice cakes, not sure what i am doing about the cake yet but definatly interested in them. Thanks for the tip on cars, have'nt done anything about that yet, to be honest am trying to sort everything else and then see if I have any money left, ideally i would really love horse and carriage but they too seem soooooo much. Have'nt thought about flowers yet although have been looking on ebay at the sellers people have been recommending, there is so much to organise and although it is quite stressful cos of the lack of money, I am so excited now planning everything, I have'nt even tried on a dress yet, was thinking of also getting that from ebay but need to try some styles on to see what will suit me.

have you thought about what colours etc you are having and where your reception is and what sort, i can recommend my caterers as ihave worked with her for yrs obviously she is doing me a deal im having a hot and cold buffet with waitresses for 150 people plus a kids table of food and dessrts for 900, flowers iwant artificial cause i have hayfever, your getting married after me so depending on what size you are your more than welcome to my dress or shoes or bridesmaid stuff etc in the true money saving style, ( i have two boys and no girls so no one to save my stuff for lol) i can give you my blokes email address for cakes if oyu want he quoted me 220 for three tier one fruit and two sponge whatever design i want but not sure if it includes stand and anything else yet. if you want to look at my dress i will sneakily get ou a pic and email (pm your email) as no one else has seen it yet, got a couple of tiaras too also another pair of brides shoes that im not gonna wear, size 4 in shoe, anyway hope all goes well

OK, I'll state up front that I'm a professional photographer but I'm not in the Essex area so I'm not after the business.

I totally understand that a wedding is expensive and of course budget constraints apply but please be careful when bargain basement shopping for a photographer - you will generally get what you pay for.

Most of the amateur work that I've seen is just a bloke taking snaps with a less than half decent camera who has no clue what he is doing. If you're going to go down that road, you might as well get a mate to take it. Your photographs are meant to be a reminder of your day, to bring back the story to you as you grow old together. There is a fair amount of skill required to do this that you don't often find in the amateur market.

I'm not saying that you should break that bank, but please, please, please, get the best you can afford so you can look back through all those married years together and have the best possible memories.

the lady i have recommended is a proffesional photographer hun she did my friends wedding and is doing mine, there is always two fo them one who does formal shots and one who does informal shots, they will visit her prior to the wedding to discuss arrangements and what shots she wants where and who with etc they have photos to show her of previous weddings etc they have been photographers for a number of yrs but have come into the wedding market in the past couple of yrs and try to work to peoples budget, i wouldnt recommend anyone if i didnt think they were not up to the job. x x x

I found plenty for our wedding at Essex Wedding Services - look at the photographers page, there's plenty listed, you can just email them for a quote for your wedding.
