in Cutting tax
Hi
Just 2 quick questions, I have been working part time on temporary contracts - the last one running out Feb 1st. Since then i have been claiming maternity allowence as im currently 35 weeks pregnant. I received my p45, final pay and payslip at the end of feb.
I have 2 queries:
1. Who will i receive my P60 from this year as im not currently employed? Will it come from the DWP?
2. My p45 shows that my total pay to date was "£5040" and total tax to date was "£24.60" I was informed Maternity Allowence is non taxable?
If this is true then im assuming im entitled to a tax rebate as my total pay is under my personal allowence for this tax year and i wont be receiving any more in theory (although there was a problem with my final pay so i may be due some more money from my last employer but it will not take me over the tax allowence amount for sure)
Would any rebate due automatically be rebated by the DWP if they do produce my P60? (ive had tax rebates at the end of jobseeker allowence claims before which where automatic) or would i have to claim it back myself from the Inland Revenue?
hope that makes sense.. and thanks in advance for any help.
