Same thing happened to me, we've had 4 demands letters for the previous tenant whilst getting our normal bills!

But luckily I rent through a letting agent I gave British Gas their details and I haven't heard a peep since.

I suggest speaking to your letting agent or landlord it's their responsibilty to make sure all bills are up to date when you move in and pay any that aren't with the previous tenants deposit.
• Hello all,
Sorry it’s been so long but been a hectic time for me of late. Just wanted to come and update everyone and say a very big thank you for all your support and advice.
I am happy to report that the situation has now been resolved. I wrote to British Gas complaints team and didn’t get a response so I sent a recorded delivery letter to Angela Mancini and got a phone call from one of her team within two days. I received a full apology and assurance that the matter was now closed.
A week later (after another nasty letter from BCW that I was told to ignore by British Gas) I received a written apology and a cheque for £90 (credit on the account that THEY owed ME!). I haven’t heard a peep from BCW since.
I am a much happier girl now, and although I am sure it won’t be the last run in I have with an unpleasant company I am glad it is all over.
The situation that I was in in March –unemployed and in shock over the sudden death of my father- meant that I would never have been able to deal with the problem had it not been for the support of everyone on here, so THANK YOU all so much xx

I recently got these contact details from the Energy Ombudsman to make a formal complaint to B-Gas and I had a response within 48 hours.

Angela Mancini
Head of Complaints
British Gas
PO Box 1577
Southampton
SO18 9EX

Hope it is of use.

Thats excellent but does anyone have any email addresses regarding making a complaint? (i have a long standing issue that I wish to forward on to them via email) if not i will print and post to this person/address.

That would be good thanks. Basically im looking to email my complaint to the highest possible person to try and get my issue resolved, so far ive dealt with many people and nearly 2 years on its still unresolved - no apology or anything! Any contact details /email addresses would be appreciated.

Most recently i had been dealing with Charlotte Gardner in Customer Relations (but i dont have her email and not sure i have the spelling of her name correct) she was supposed to ring me back last wednesday - and nothing yet!

Centrica email addresses appear to be firstname.lastname@centrica.com, so you could try to get hold of Ms. Gardner that way :D

Thanks i'll give that a go - up until now i only had email address with firstname.lastname@house.co.uk.

Wonder if that would work to reach Ms Mancini also - only one way to find out :rotfl:
