Pension Lost?

Hi, I was made redundant 20 years ago and have never had my pension value given to me, each company that has bought my pension just send me letters to say they are unable at the moment to give me any idea of value this is a long time and I have tried OPAS and they traced the pension to a company that I never knew had taken it over but that was 2 years ago, I have had a letter from them informing me that each time they write to me it is charged to my pension, short of paying £100 pounds an hour for someone to look into it with no positive outcome I wondered if anybody here can advise - I retire in 2008 the worst of it is, it could have been transferred and helped me for the future but rules prevent t being done -by the government

Write a letter of complaint to them asking redress. They will be obliged to respond in (from memory) eight weeks.
No response then warrants a complaint to the ombudsman details of which are on the Financial Serivces Authority website.
I also recall that trustees must supply figures when requested and can only charge when more than one request for the same information is asked for within twelve months (alhtough many don't charge)
