Mortage advice needed for temp employment

Hi,

Can anyone offer me some advice please? My partner and myself hope to move house soon probably putting my property on the market next month. We are both employed earning about 17k each a year I have been with present employer for over ten years my partner is on a temporary nine month contract and has been with employer for five months but expects to be kept on.(first job after graduating, local government).

Our housing situation is I own a property and expect to sell for 100k, I owe about 32k on the mortgage, we would like to borrow 100k joint, and buy for 160k. I have recently had two short telephone conversations with two of the main online, mortgage broker advisers. After explaining our situation one sugested waiting until my partner has a permenent contract, the other said that most lenders will only ask for three pay slips, so I could apply now. I know that the later will require being economical with the truth on the application but is it likely that the under-righters will contact his employers for proof of his situation in todays climate what with the tighting of criteria?

Obviously, we would not like to be in the situation where we had to withdraw from a sale because our offer had been removed especially after paying any associated costs like arrangement fees and hips.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Yes there is a chance of the underwriters asking the employer.

If you tell any untruths or bend the truth and you later get into trouble the lender will not be very sympathetic.
