in Cutting tax
Hi,
In a moneysaving spirit, I have dug out my P80 for my last tax year (2006-2007) and reckon I might have paid too much tax...yay! (well, yay as in hopefully I can get a refund). Just spoke to the tax office who said to send in my P80 and they will have a look at it, but was wondering if anyone has any experience of how long these things generally take to process? The HMRC website has some details of how long it might take if you've applied for a refund soon after you've left employment, but in my case it is dating back from last March ... I'm not desperate for the money, but would just like an idea of when to start chasing if I haven't heard back by a certain date?
Thanks very much in advance.

Assume you mean P60?
Depends on your tax office. Mine is taking about 4 weeks to process them at the moment (so they tell me)0 -
Thanks :-)
(and yes, its a P60, not quite sure where P80 came from!)0 -
4 weeks is probably a tad optimistic. Mine is allegedly one of the more up to date ones and I'm awaiting both a refund claim and a new code (separate entities) from 6 weeks ago. And I'm not viewing the HMRC franked envelope(s) as imminent, just yet!If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0

Do you remember what the site said about the above as I have looked and can't find anything.
Thanks:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
