... that will switch off the stereo in the flat above me!
The last two days I have been kept up while trying to sleep after a night shift with his rave music thumping thru the ceiling!
I have tried banging on his door, the music stopped for a while but he didn't come out to see me  then it started again a short while later.
I wish I had a remote that I could turn his stereo down from my bed, it would also have the added bonus of freaking him out! :rotfl:

I once lived below a chap who did this. It was particularly bad one night. I taped a cork over the doorbell and went to sleep as best I could.
Their doorbell rang on and on then gave up and broke.
Turned out, the chap had passed out through drink and drugs.
The only remedy you have:
The Landlord and the bit in the contract (there will be one) that says they musn't disturb other flat dwellers (it may be impossible to get the landlord to do anything).
Noise pollution laws and the environment agency who might confiscate the gear.
Interference. Find the place where the equipment is, then slowly turning an electrical switch on and off you can get the switch to arc and spark. This creates radio interference and may interfere with the music. Do this often enough and they may get the point. Get some powerful radio transmitter and blast their kit.
Big burly friends who already have a police record to "have a word". Hope that your friends are bigger than his friends.
Good luck.0
