Hi All
Havent posted on here for ages but wanted to tell you about a strange call I got from Lloyds - I owe £4790 on a credit card to them but they said if I could pay off £1800 they would accept that and cancel the rest of the debt !!! I am going into the branch tomorrow to see if it is a genuine offer (then I have to find £1800) ha ha
I owe Northern Rock £11400 and they are taking me to court next wednesday to try and get a charging order on the house - not a nice feeling
Have increased my payments to the CCCS but still feel like I am getting nowhere with my debt, total debt is £19390
sorry to rant but it is good to get it off my chest
thanks for listening

Its interesting re your point over lloyds..i'm sure a couple of other posters have had either a call or letter offering a gd discount on ther debt....interesting times!...Maybe its an opening shot...its your decision..but maybe you should try lower..it cud just b ther initial offer is an opening one and they wud b willing to accept less...or mayb not!

Just make sure the payment is for Full and final settlement - not partialAfter falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0
Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/20110 -
Hi Averageguy
Yes it might be an opening shot i asked if there was a time limit on the offer they said to give them a call back in about 10 days even if I didnt have the money but was still trying to get the funds together so maybe worth a try to get lower. I thought we had to give give settlement offers lol0 -
I've heard a few others on here saying the same about Lloyds.
Make sure you get everything in writing Mel, and make sure it states Full and Final Settlement
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:
