How much TAX at my Second Job?

Options
Guys I need help as to what amount of TAX and NI is deductable from my 2nd Job?

I already have one with TaX code 522L and now I have been offered a part-time job with Gross amount £2502/month.

At my second Job, I know tax code would be "BR"..

Can anyone tell me what amount of TAX is deductable and what would be the NI at this amount?

Cheers.

  • All pay is fully taxable and subject to NI once you are over the personal limit threshhold.

    That is my understanding anyhows.

for every pound you earn in your second job you will be taxed at your basic Rate - 20p - assuming you do not earn so much in your first job that you pay higher rate tax. If you do you will end up owing tax on the second job unless you get the revenue to change your code to take more out at source.

Don't know the answer on NI deductions but would assume its same percentage as main job

  • Thank you guys for a prompt reply..

So correct me If I am wrong...You mean at my new job which has a Gross £2502 amount..My tax would be:

    @22% ---- Tax = 550

    NI
= ? ( I am paying 165.38 NI at my previous job - would it remain same? here it says NI Table A)
  • Also, I have heard that more Tax is deducted at new job, that mans above 22%...Is this true?

NI is deducted as a percentage of your earnings - not sure what the percentage is though - probably somewhere areound 8%

    NI was 11%

so in all if you are taxed on your first income, your second income would reduce at 31p in the pound, which works out at about 775 overall

Not unless your new job takes you into the 40% bracket.

So you mean a total of 775 would be deducted from my Gross income of £2502?

Is this just TAX or NI included?
