I have a personal endowment insurance not linked to any mortgage. Can anyone tell me if this type of endowment is covered by the miss selling as it is performing rather poorly.

It is covered but you have to make a case on a different, and harder basis.Trying to keep it simple...

"savings" endowments do not fall under the same complaints issues as mortgage endowments. i.e. you cannot say you should have been sold a repayment mortgage (which is what most endowment complaints are about).
Performance is not grounds for complaint so you cannot use that either.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
