Yesterday grapes were half price in my local one, white and red wine vinegar £1 a bottle and some half price wine. Milk is 1.10 4pts - same as Iceland.

Somerfield have a habit of making their offers only available to somebody with their card. Make sure you pick one up at customer services before you get to the till.

Its not a credit card though. Just a bit like Nectar without the points. I guess they want to track what you buy.
  • AFAIK, they dont do the card anymore, my local store hasnt for about a year now.

The card was stopped about 2 years ago as they wanted their offers to be open to the masses instead of the few who could be bothered to register (they actually mean they realised it put people off). Now you only need a card if you want them to do a (free) home delivery (you dont have to have one in advance though, you can pick one up when you get there).
I'm probably biased (in fact I know I am ;)) but there are some great deals on occasion in store, but overall I find Somerfield to be rather expensive even with my staff discount.
Currently on offer in the meat isle (my dept) are whole legs of lamb at less than half price (£4 something per kilo), boneless pork legs again less than half price, salmon fillets at £1.99 instead of £4.99 (I've been assured by several customers they are delicious), uhmmmm.... lamb leg steaks (sorry cant remember what offer).
Remember offers change on a Wednesday every other week (grocery change one week, fresh/dairy/meat the other) so you have plenty of time to go get them.

We have a somerfield at the bottom of our street.

Their white pitta breads are much better quality than Tesco's - and their healthy living garlic bread is also much cheaper than Mr Ts.
