i know what you mean, it makes life that much harder when you are trying to get shot of the debt and you dont allow yourself anything for fun! i find you fall off the wagon more frequently (and often spend more:eek:)
the kids loved it anyway:DNovember NSD's - 70 -

Morning JD - I too think you should allow yourself little treats, we dont take the kids to cinemas much and then it makes it more of a treat. Were not really planning any more treats until holidays in 8 weeks time - need get saving!!Focusing on clearing the credit cards in 2018 :T0

summer holidays are expensive arent they!! after this years is over i have decided to tuck away money every month so it wont be such a worry next year!!!:DNovember NSD's - 70 -
me too - to be honest our family summer holiday is our biggest expense in a year and ive been saving vouchers for next years, will have around £700 worth so far - my aim is to save about 2500.00 before next may so thats the majority of the holiday paid for :-)Focusing on clearing the credit cards in 2018 :T0

Jamie when my kids were small I used to save stuff through the year for the summer hols, craft stuff, games, paints , seeds , like cress etc which grows quickly, sweets, novelty cake mixes, cans of pop and other bits and pieces. Then when the kids were having one of their "I'm bored " days we would get something out the box to do, or have a treat of sweets, make some cakes,.
Water bomb balloons were always popular on warm days;) and it all helped the spending budget go a little further:D
A new PS game goes down well too.0 -
sophiesmum - they are great ideas, hope you dont mind if i copy them:D
day 9!!
NSD achieved yesterday as I dont include debt paying as part of a no spend day. it is also not included in the challenge!!
this morning i will be off to tescos (only to the cashopint:D) to withdraw my money as its payday!! then to the post office for the usual round of paying the rent, car tax stamps etc. wednesdays are never a NSD for me!
found an old copy of MS Money in the back of a cupboard yesterday, so most of the day was spent loading that up to the laptop and transferring all details to it.
packed up the remaining cartridges yesterday and posted them off to tesco:) my points are still rising!! cant wait to get the cc+ card, which funnily enough the £1 cheque i sent them hasnt been cashed yet.....i hope there is not a problem!!
