Hi, I am also looking for a new cylinder vacuum and don't know which to go for. My sister has a miele and she says its the best cleaner she has ever had, BUT - the bags are expensive to buy, thats the only thing putting me off getting one myself.
    Hope this helps a bit.

I'd go for a Henry. I've tried others but still keep coming back.

    henry henry henry every time!!:T
  • I had a henry and couldn't wait to get rid of it.

It lasted a long time 10 years+, but it was so heavy and awkarward (sp). I spent hours dragging the thing round swearing at it.

I was finally able to get the OH to agree to a new one when I got pregnant and refused to use Henry for fear of doing the baby harm!!!!

Ive got a miele cat and dog, and love it, have had dysons, henrys etc, etc.Which recommend it over and over again

With regards to bags if you have a local market near to you that sells vacuum bits, they are miles cheaper than main dealers.

    Hope that helps

We have just bought today from Tesco's an Electrolux Vitesse Pet Lover 1700w Upright hoover for £69.92p It weighs 8.3kg and has a dust collection bin as they call it that fits on the front. There is an attachement for fitting on the front of the hose for use on stairs,a small dusting brush and the usual wand and crevis tool for getting into difficult places.

We have tried it out on our lounge carpet and it seems to have done a good job of it.

I have had dysons in the past and found them far too heavy for carrying upstairs and they keep breaking down so gave up with them in the end plus they were quiet expensive.

A frid of mine has a miele but says that the lid of the storage compartment for the tools has a tendancy not to want to shut without force plus the replacement bags are very expensive.

For the price I paid for mine even if it only lasts a couple of years at that price it is a bargain but that is just my opinion.

Good Luck in whatever one you choose
