Can anyone find a cheaper MP3 player? (moved)

With minimum 20GB capacity then this:-

http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=124586&partner=kelkoo

This is less than £150 not including postage for a 30GB, which is roughly same price as the cheapest 20GB ones. Anyone found one cheaper?

Thanks!

Yvonne

P.S I know I've posted this before but I'm still looking for one!

Dabs have got some 60GB ones in their Used Stock section :

    http://www.dabs.com/uk/channels/usedItems/used_details?BgradeRef=66614

They aren't actually used, they are clearance items. Can't say how good they are though. Otherwise you should be able to get the Sony NW-HD3 for less than £150 if you shop around.

if you want a 20gb mp3 player get an archos gmini sp200 about a quarter of the size of that one up there, and you can get it for roughly £140

    I agree, here's the Archos:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002U0JP4/qid=1123245415/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/026-8423151-4239615

But note that there is a slightly newer model out (the XS 202) which has a blue screen instead of a green screen I believe, and it adds Microsoft PlaysForSure support - meaning that it can play copy-protected windows media files (ie bought from an online music store, such as Napster)...for me, those probably aren't worth the little extra over the XS200...
  • comet have some for less than that
  • Found this one which I haven't heard of before so wondered if anyone else has any comments/reviews on it

Thomson is a French company which is probably the equivqalent of Bush or Alba (IMHO). For the extra £20 the Zen would win hands down.

Take a look here and see some of the reviews. http://reviews.cnet.com/Music/2001-6450_7-0.html

I personally would probably buy a MP3 player that took cards and doesn't have a hard drive thus is more use for jogging etc. If I was in the market for a hard drive the Zen would certainly be in the short list. As would the Rio Karma. IRiver products get very good reviews but are not cheap. I have a thing about IPods an irrational thing but I wouldn't buy one. I have seen some good reviews of the Toshiba Gigabeat.

The main thing with any MP3 player is the headphones I am sure many of the cheaper ones (if cheap enough) matched with quality headphones might prove a good deal.
