in Cutting tax
My mother-in -law lives in her own, semi-sheltered, flat. As management charges increase and her savings -and thus interest-dwindle she is becoming increasingly worried. My wife and I are going to pay the management charges of 2000 pounds annually from our own pensions. Can I get tax relief on this? Any advice wuld be appreciated. Eleraig:question:

No tax relief on this as it is not related to your employment.
Dependent Relative relief was abolished yonks ago.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0 -
have you checked all the benefits that your MIL is entitled to?
She may qualify for pension credit even if she has savings and this then entiltles her to much reduced council tax.
sorry if you have already got this covered0 -
