Traffic policing after building collapse

Did anyone see it? Well nor did I!
I was coming back from the University area shortly after 4, several hours after the incident had occurred. As I approached the markets lights I saw some cars apparently trying to turn up towards central station from the wrong lane but people drive terribly here at the best of times so thought little more of it. It was not until I got past the traffic lights, some 100 yards from the incident, that I became aware that there was definitely a problem. I was no adding to some serious congestion that I could have easily avoided had there been a police officer or some sort of sign letting me know the road ahead was closed!
Come on PSNI, every time we have an 'incident', you drop the ball. You can do better than this!

2 + 2 = 4
except for the general public when it can mean whatever they want it to.

I always find the traffic reports on local radio usefullDave0

That is all well and good assuming you listen to a local station! It should not be up to the radio to divert people...2 + 2 = 4

I just listen to the radio so I know where to go and where not to go. There's many incidents that are phoned in by the general public to the traffic news and I hear them sometimes before the police have even had a chance to make their way out there!0

Turn on the RDS Traffic Information on your car radio and it will automatically turn to a local station when travel news is broadcast. It might say "TP" on the button.0 -
That assumes i have rds! Unfortunately I do not!
I just thought it was a bit silly that the police did not have a person at the markets junction diverting people before it was too late... It would have eased the congestion no end and it was not as if there were not enough police there to spare one!2 + 2 = 4

You forget the police are a lot like the construction industry. It takes 10 of them to stand around whilst one person does the work, except in the PSNI's case that one person is on sick leave.0

Now you are unkind..... that one person is sitting in an office mailing out speeding tickets2 + 2 = 4

You are 100% and I would not condone listening to local radio all the time nor do I always agree with Sigur :rotfl:
In the afternoon I would normally flick over to Radio Ulster for the news and travel on the hour.
You said that it was shortly after four, was there a match on TV or anythingDave0 -
PSNI did have officers out directing traffic around 1pm or so.0
