Recommendations for GHD straightener repairs

Hi All,
I'm hoping this is a good place to put this thread. Trawled the forums to see it was here before and it seems not.
I have had my GHD straighteners of around 18 mths and they just stopped working the other day.
No LED light comes on and they don't heat up. I bought them off Beautysleuth which appears from the msg on their website to have gone out of business!!!typical!
As I am possibly just about to buy a flat, I would rather get them repaired than shell out £100 for new ones.
Any suggestions for reliable repairers,(or ones to avoid!) would be great.

If you contact GHD directly, they may repair them for you free of charge, they do seem pretty good with aftersales.

I'm not sure but I'll give it a go. Thought you had to be registered with them (well, this is what learned from another forum I saw)

How very bizarre.
Today in work, our intranet had a thread about someone complaining to GHD, direct.
They sent their straighteners back to GHD, along with their original receipt, and GHD sent them a brand new set. They had the straighteners for over a year, and still a new set was sent.
Another poster stated that they also complained direct to GHD, but they did not have a reciept. Again it was afer the 1 year. And again a new set was sent.

i didn't buy directly from them but they do cover ALL ghd's bought wherever (only UK though i imagine). In fact i was given these details by my sis in law a few years ago and between us we know at least a dozen people who've sent them back and got an exchange.
My dd's best friend sent her's back a couple of weeks ago and they actually repaired hers and not replaced but she was just happy not to pay over 100 quid again!
They defo do not charge to repair either. Just try and send them by registered mail in case they say they never rec'd them.

I will look at all the options, and then post them off. I'm guessing GHD are being super nice after the slating they got on Watchdog recently!
