Capital realisation from property value

My wife and I will both be of retirement age later this year. We both will have various pensions from employments, however, we wish to make a £40 capital purchase for retirement enjoyment. We d not wish to take a loan for this, rather, raise this in some way by offsetting against our home. We have no mortgage, the property would value at around £200k. We are aware of equity release plans, but would like to know about other means such as signing over part of the house value to a financial provider.

Any info would be welcome.

Thank you.

That is equity release. There are variations of a theme but it all falls under the equity release banner.

You are really too young, better to downsize.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
  • We do not wish to take a loan for this.

Then forget it as every such scheme involves a mortgage.
