A Free car: too good to be true?!

  • hi

I know you've had alot of advice on car insurance but I recently did alot of research into the cheapest and it came out as swift cover, they are purley internet based and so can offer cheaper rates. This was the same for other members of my family, definitley worth a try....

I never actually got my first two cars serviced as they where quite old and the cost just wasn't something I could pay out at the time, but I do get mine serviced now and the cost, if you shop round, should be around £100 and often can include the MOT also - although the cost for repairing any problems can be quite high I would again recommend shopping round for prices once serviced.
  • how much should I budget for repairs?

I'm sorry for being a dunce, but what does it mean getting a car serviced? Like a check up at the Drs?! thanks :)
    Positive vibes:
Spending less than £100 on food shopping in May.
organising cheap/free days out with friends
    Negative vibes:
Being £1100 in my overdraft :o

depends entirely on what you need doing to the car, but save up £20 a month if possible for repairs, if you havent had repairs for the first 3 months, bank the £60 towards your over draft, and work on it like that!

thats how i do it, and so far its working out well. but a P reg fiesta shouldnt suck up that much petrol, and look at CIS insurance, my mrs is with them, she has an excess of £400 and pays only £300 a year for insurance fully comp, she is 23 and has had her licence for 2 years.
