Opened up a halifax 3% fixed isa today to transfer my current isa into and save more into next year. I now have £3600 in my instant saver ready to drop into the ISAMortgage Free 22/03/17
MissWillow is my OH!0 -
Am in process of transferring my Isa to Natwest for their 3.51% offer, better than the measly 2% I was getting0

It's pay day for me today but I've only managed to add £100 to the pot as I'm frantically paying off my credit card first. In May it should really start to accellerate.Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0

I got paid on 25th and a little bit of a bonus (I work in the private sector and my company did very well last year!) so I've put an extra £100 in to my ISA, along with my £100 from Ebay, my £150 monthly savings and £10 for recycling my mobile, I'm now up to £610
Slow and steady!
I've also paid an extra £50 off on my car, so only £750 to go on that now, should have it paid off in 3 or 4 months and can start saving that money too!0 -
Please can I join you all
Hello.
I am trying to save up for a better deposit. Ive got about £35000 at the mo. I would like at least another £10000 to get an ok size mortgage.
Am putting money into overpayments every month and saving another £250 at the mo. Am going to try selling some stuff on ebay to get a pit of extra cash to add to it too

Welcome Kingsthorpe.
We have a lot of stuff we could sell. I've bought few things on ebay but never sold using it. DH and i were considering a few car boot sales too. We're trying to decide what would be both easiest and less trouble.0 -
Thanks lostinrates
I think you would actually make more money in care boot sales as most money made on ebay goes to paypal and ebay fees. So I would try the car boot thing. I live in cumbria and its a bit weard but we dont seem to have any car boots here. I love car boots and have looked everwhere for a decent car boot here. when I visit family in the summer months Ialways go the car boots.0 -

Thanks for the advice. I like the idea of the 'immeadiacy' of car boot sales, trather than waiting for pay pal and posting and the whole thing dragging on. I think there is a board somewhere hat includes car boot sales. I might go and see if any local ones are recommended.0 -
Well today dh got paid... and he'd had 3 days off work due to the flu... Unfortunately that means his pay was 6 days down as they work a day and get a paid day off.. Booooooooooooo Hooooooo. So rubbish, not only can we not save anything from his pay but we can hardly pay all the bills this month. Going to have to do some fancy shuffling via credit card and overdraft to be paid off next month (therefore no interest- on the CC anyway).
It's a bit disapointing tho. On the bright side I heard i'm still in the running for a really well paid term time teaching job so that's really good. If not i've still got the childminding too so could be worse! And my sister has just offered to help me and the baby go on holiday to visit my Dad who is ill! Brill! (The hol.iday bit obviously...not my Dad!)2022 Comp total (prizes + free spins): £494.81 #20 £12 a day Jan: £382.95/£372 #57 360 1p challenge: £17.70 £10 a day Feb: £571.09/£280 March: £311.96/£3100
