Oh nice thread! So far I have 10k saved
, hoping to have over 34k by 2024. I'm waiting for an approval for a pay rise in December, so that'll help!
Currently trying to save 500£ a month since April, I've so far succeeded (hoping to get to 600£ from February onwards), but I'm always planning for rainy days.My partner is also saving, but it's not always easy with his 2 kids to pay for, but whatever he's got then (hopefully over 10k) will help for a deposit.0 -

@tara747 you’ve been inspiring me for 10 odd years, congratulations on your total so far! Absolutely incredible!
I had to have private surgery, this took me into debt and saw me see in the new year -£14k. As of May 2020 I became debt free and I plan on ending 2020 with £20k in the bank. Currently have £17k.
My partner moves in next month (currently I live with my two children) so having someone to help with the rent will be great- I will then have £1500 disposable income so I plan of saving as much as possible! Partner has £12k of debt (was £23k Jan 1st!) but has £5k sale pending and plans to be debt free by the end of the year. He also has £6k in savings. We’re aiming for £40k deposit plus £5k H2B bonus, that should see us get a £300k house. Also need to save £5k for fees and £5k for furniture (probably won’t be used so will go towards our celebratory holiday!) Aiming for July 2021 when house prices have crashed and my DD starts secondary school.Looking forward to your updates!
Sorry to hear you had to have surgery (privately as well - double ouch). I hope it was a success.
Lovely news about your partner moving in - congratulations. I also moved in with my partner a while ago - he has his own house, and we have plans to build our dream house in a few years. It certainly helps to split bills in half - and it's also a really nice thing to do. We've been together for 6.5 years and living together is just so lovely.
£40k is very doable and hurrah for the £5k H2B bonus. Ae you browsing the market yet or waiting until next year?Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I am single no children, rent on my own, I save £535 every month into a help to buy isa and reg saver. I also save £75 into a pot for fees etc. Sometimes I’m able to save a bit more, sometimes not. It’s a long slog but will be worth it in the end. I’ve only been saving for a year. I’ve at least another full year to go.3

Hi everybody, I've only just found this thread. I'm saving for a move, maybe a deposit or maybe just renting. I'm also single, but I'm too old for the house saving ISAs! So got to do it all on my own. I have about £2000 in my bank at the moment, and have some money in other places that I need to pull together so I can see the bigger picture. I have an agreement in principal from my bank, but it's for a 15% deposit and that still leaves me about £10,000 short of a decent place, so I'm looking at a deposit of around £25000 as soon as I can get it2

Jumping on board for motivation! We’ve been saving since Feb this year. Currently have £15k inc LISA bonus. Hoping for £18k by the end of the year and intending to meet our final goal of £30k by the end of 2021.1

Hi
Lifetime ISA £4,960.57, 90 Day Notice Account £455.75, total deposit savings £5,416.32.
First Home Saver £1,109.05.
Furniture & Fittings savings £60.42.Wow this page has become very busy all of a sudden. Welcome to all the newbies on this page 👋🏻@tara747 - thanks for your tips. I love your suggestion about breaking the savings down into specific items that you want for the house, and the other tips have really got me thinking.I’ve had a good month regarding deposit savings. I opened a 90 day notice account with Yorkshire Building Society and have been feeding savings into that account. I’ve sold a handful of items in October and am still WFH so have also put some of the money I would usually save for my train season ticket towards my deposit savings. I’m so pleased that I’m almost at £5K in my Lifetime ISA as, until the last couple of months, I’ve not been able to save much each month. Hopefully all of my deposit savings will start to increase much faster from now on.During the month, I also created a house savings tracker spreadsheet, where I can keep track of all house related savings that I have. It should certainly make updating this page easier each month 😁
This month, I’m going to make use of lockdown by having a good declutter of my stuff and sorting out bits that I can try to sell. I also have plenty of crafty bits to use when I’m bored, tidying and cleaning in the house to do, and, if there’s a few nice days, plenty to do in the garden to get it cleared ahead of some changes we want to make out there over the next few months. All that free stuff should keep me occupied and money in my bank.

Hi
Lifetime ISA £5,698.07, 90 Day Notice Account £853.91, total deposit savings £6,551.98
First Home Saver £1,160.18
Furniture & Fittings savings £85.42
A decent month again, an increase of almost £1K which I’m really pleased with. Not expecting to do as well in December, but glad that it’s slowly going up.
I’m expecting December to be pretty quiet as the area I’m in (Medway) has one of the highest levels of Covid at the moment so I’ll be staying at home and avoiding other people as much as possible. I’m expecting Christmas week to be pretty quiet as well with a possible visit to see my brothers on the 23rd and nothing other than that.
Hope everyone else is good.

My November 2020 update:
I managed to save £4,514 (almost half of which was interest on NS&I 3-year bonds, which have now matured - will we ever see 2.2% interest again??).
So far in 2020 I’ve saved £33,472.
My new grand savings total is £195,429I'd absolutely love to hit £200k this year - there is no chance of that with just one pay cheque to go, but I'm delighted with my progress. Lockdown has been very kind to us savings-wise, we've been lucky.
