  • Back in August I had 62k saved. It's December, 4 months later and I've got 69.5k. It would have been even more but had to pay a ridiculous 1k fee for something that should be costing no more than £200.

When I started saving, I had set my target as 70k for the end of 2016. I'll have about £78k come next May/June/July which is when I'm going to buy.

I cannot thank my Dad enough, his hard work (7*16 hour days when he was younger fitting carpets and decorating) is the reason why our family has two homes right now and we can save over 1k almost every month and sometimes 2k if no bills and tax are due.

Anyways, next target for me is £75K March 2016.

I haven't seen this thread before. I'm saving for a deposit, not sure what target to aim for though but probably around the 20k mark. I've opened a help to buy ISA and also have savings in the top paying current accounts/regular savers.

  • Ending the year with £3,600 saved for all moving-out pots. I've re-arranged my budgets for next year to maximise what I'm saving into each pot. My favourite day of each month is pay-day Haha ;)

Keep on stashing the cash !! :D

Just started this month with the H2B ISAs!

Saved £1,200 each, so including the bonus effectively £3,000 to spend on a house.

Also paid off £3,000 of debt this month, leaving £4,500 to go, which is almost all at 0% anyway.

    Final update of 2015! :)

I managed to save £791 in December (not bad actually with all the Christmas shopping and socialising I've been doing!).

That's a 2015 grand total of £10,368 - less than I was aiming for, but still a pretty good year overall

My new GRAND TOTAL is £95,207. I *will* hit the £100,000 mark in 2016, but for now I will celebrate my progress to date :D:D:D

Well done to everyone, see you in 2016!

I'm not sure how much I'm 'saving' this month, but possibly £865 + what ever interest gained on the ISA.

Just as well go be honest, because there's been some spending to do this past month, including search fees, lenders valuation fees and oh car service + MOT too.

January will be small pickings too, as I'll probably want to book a home buyers report, and plus there the car insurance to renew as well.

Not sure how I missed this thread, but it's definitely of interest! I'm 26 and only just started saving for a house deposit (long story). I have my fantasy little "5 year plan" but given my location (Cambridge) one can only dream that savings will increase faster than house price rises.

But hey ho, all we can do is save and save intelligently, right?

I wish I had started saving up some money at 26!! :D

I'm working to a 5 year saving plan as well, though I'm already looking to get an idea of areas and property types. I want to make sure I've maximised the list of areas I'm willing to move to, so I can get the most space for my money.

Would also recommend reading the House Buying & Selling board on here, it's amazing for tips! :A Good luck with the savings :)

Looking forward to 2016, I'd like to think that I could buy but unless I manage to put away a considerable amount, then its a dream. I'll try my best though!

Aiming for £10k next year as a minimum.
    £20k in 2023 = £2718 £2023 in 2023 = £196.41 Grocery challenge £250= £195.80 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**

Well December hasn't been a great month for me. Xmas really was expensive this year! Never mind, I'm ending the year with a total of £25,200.

I believe I have saved £9,000 in 2015 and next year I'm going to save even more!!

My next big target is hitting £30k which I'm aiming to get to by May. I don't like to think too far ahead though!

As I've mentioned previously I need to start saving for a car. I've recently started MBing and slowly built up a nice bit of profit. I'm going to put more effort in it in the new year and any profit I make will go towards the new car. Again, May 2016 is my target date for a new car!

I'm hoping to hit £26k in January but have been quoted £75 for a filling at the Dentist and another £70 for car repair.

    See you in 2016!
House Deposit: £28,000 and still saving!
