Deposited £500 into Isa this month! Have seriously lost sight and been spending money with little saving!
Must get back on track!
Hope you've all had a good day!

Well just a little monthly update from me, the usual has gone into savings, and I've finally made it to under £15,000 to go! (although I think it maybe a very long time before I manage to save that amount).
Hope everyone else is heading in the right direction!

Another short update for me - signature changed.
A smaller increase this month and for a while longer as the other half is no longer employed.. feeling a little demotivated staring at my spread sheets and charts seeing how this decrease affects the rate at which we save, but heigh ho! Onwards and upwards..
Starbrite - I am sure you will find something soon!
Happy saving all!Started saving January 2011
BOUGHT A HOUSE Aug 2013 - WHOOPIEEEEEEE!:beer:0 -
Where do you even BEGIN to look for a mortgage?!?
Since my target's getting near (I know it looks like a lot of money to save in October but I've actually got a NS&I bond maturing which I hadn't counted till now as I could never track how much it was worth), and OH and I have found a house we like, I decided to take a preliminary look at mortgages.
Moneysupermarket.com is just confusing me!
Just what I've been thinking! I am miles away from my target but I thought if I started looking I could learn if what I think I can afford is realistic and you never know, the perfect 'cheaper' property might turn up! I thought I'd start with an IFA (:money: gives advice on what questions to ask them) and see where it goes.
£500 saved last month, which is huge for me (target is £250 per month!)Weight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0 -
I need £10k for my first place, started saving 6 weeks ago. Upto £3k so 30% of total. Hopefully hit, or nearly hit target by year end.:eek:Living frugally at 24
Increase net worth £30k in 2016 : http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?p=69797771#post697977710 -
What sort of house prices are you looking at? I'd get absolutely nowhere with 10k where I live! Does the 10k include fees etc, or would that be just the deposit? 3k in 6 weeks is very impressive! Well done!0

Hi Guys
Thought I'd join this thread. Me and the OH are now saving for a house. Looking for £20,000 in total to including fees.
Hopfully will have this saved by Mid 2014 as we want to be on the market by the time we are 350 -
Up to £3900 now, seemed to have spent a lot of money recently so saving has gone to the wayside slightly but hopefully will pick it up again soon.
Hopefully you'll find something soon Starbrite, redundancy's rubbish0 -
Up to about £4600 now. Should break the 5k barrier next month.
Got my final increment at work, my pay is now "frozen" but at least the shift rotation has improved which means I am more likely to get a fairer share of un-social enhancements.
Aiming on £600-£800 a month from this point on. Although I will allow myself the odd treat. Have to live afterall.:www: Progress Report :www:
Offer accepted: £107'000
Deposit: £23'000
Mortgage approved for: £84'000
Exchanged: 2/3/16
:T ... complete on 9/3/16 ... :T0 -
Little update from me. Over 45k now
should hit 50k just before I turn 23.
Imagine I will finally purchase a house at 25ish? Hoping by then house prices will be a tad more realistic but I'm sure it will take a lot longer than 2/3 years for that! Saying that, I'm obsessed with looking online at houses - im guilty of checking my rightmove app several times a day!!0
