@bodmil if it was 5% for this year alone I'd be over the moon but haven't had a pay rise in nearly 5 years! So it was more than deserved :-)

Ahh very deserved! Good luck for the bonus next!

I've just put in my second offer on a flat, still don't think they will go for it but hope they will give me some feedback as to how far off it is from what they really want. Unfortunately they don't seem to be in a rush so I can't really push them, grrrrr!

I expect somewhere between £500 to £600 this month, should take me back up to the 2 grand mark, but I'll wait before updating my out of date sig.

    Next month should be better.

I decided upon putting away only £500 in interest of being able to afford to eat. But current fund back upto £2200.

Due to a healthy stint of unsocial hours at work the past month, May's wages ought to facilitate a £600 or £700 saving.

Think the savings are going to take a hit in the coming months because I've got a new job which means I have to move out of the parents house and in with the OH. On the plus side yay for moving in with OH but money is going to be REALLY tight to start with.

im currently saving to buy my first house, im 23 and still living with parents. i didnt go to uni (instead got an office job and studied after work) so im not in any debt, im saving roughly £500 a month but im thinking i will need approx £7000 for deposit. im about halfway there but i cant wait! im looking at houses now in the hope i can find something cheaper but no luck so far...ive put off moving out before and renting as i think it would be harder to save so im staying put for now but fingers crossed i move soon

We hit 39k this month - so want to be on the 40k because it will feel a little like a milestone and we can have a little treat. Had an offer on the flat we're selling too, but not sure how serious it is so fingers crossed.... if we sell that, then we are there and can start looking at houses - though we are going to wait until sale is complete and we actually physically have the funds! Still - finally feels like we're making progress

I'd suggest aiming for 20k deposit.
