I can't believe how much some of you have saved! Amazing!

To add my little bit, OH and I have set a target of saving another 7k each this year, so when our tenancy agreement on our flat ends in December, we're all ready to buy. We want a 10% deposit on a flat in south London, with a budget of up to about £250,000, plus we'll need a bit more for stamp duty (assuming the FTB holiday ends soon, as planned) and all the other fees. It's actually really hard to know what our budget is at this stage though - the online calculators give answers that vary by £100,000!

We're in our early 30s, but had a few setbacks along the way thanks to 3 redundancies between us over the last 3 years and a lot of moves between rented properties to pay for. I've always been a saver, but OH only just opened his first savings account and a FD regular savings account last week. He's learning!
    Saving for deposit: Finished! :j
    House buying: Finished!
Next task: Lots and lots of DIY

I bought some sunglasses today instead of the shoes. I am allowing myself one item a month that is non essential.

 Never thought £13 would hurt!

    Can I play?

Also saving for my first house, but as I'm currently single it will be harder.

So, I like to keep £2k in my current account (i know, i know) just in case.

-ISA have approx £1500 with £50pw going in.
-Earn £25k per year and have a PT job earing another £2k per year
    - Have CC debt (interest free of course) of around £1200 due to car insurance renewal today.
-Each payday if i have over £2k in my account i put half of the excess into my ISA and the other half to the CC (which get £100 per month anyway).

-Looking to save £15k, so 10% there.

    and im off

Going through a rough patch.... Having to spend money on physio therapy because I'm in constant physical discomfort.... Just renewed my road tax and saving in general isn't going as smoothly as it might.

I've just rounded my fund down to £4000 because my current account was overdrawn already.

The good news is that the final payment on my car fiance is this month and I might settle my other debt as well as to save a couple of years interest on it. That would eat into my fund heavily but at least I'd be out of debt completely! And able to save a couple more hundred £ a month.
