  • Just transferred a funny amount into the savings £843, I've got a thing about leaving even amounts in my current account but I'll hopefully be able to make it upto a nice £900 at the end of the month.

I've got a few birthdays to budget for so don't want to have to transfer anything back into the current account if I'm short, but I'm hoping I might have a little bit left.......already counting the days until next payday :rotfl:I'm sure this savings lark is making me OCD.
2013 - Finally got the house we' ve worked so hard to get......now it's a life of diy and no money....couldn't be happier 😊
2020 - mortgage free target set 8 years and counting 🎯

  • Hi everyone, first time I have posted on this thread. Me and my fiancee are looking at a 20% deposit on a £125k property so a reasonable £25k! We have so far saved £21k and are putting away around £2K a month. So hopefully will have £27k in April and be in a position to proceed, including other costs such as surveys etc. Have started looking already though, jumping the gun a bit!

You're not the only one to round up their accounts. I do it every Friday!! :rotfl:I put this into a separate savings account and it's surprising how quickly it all adds up. Don't worry about becoming OCD ~ you're in good company on this thread! ;)

i also leave even amounts in my current account.

for me anyway renting longer than i have to doesn't make sense, my rent is £530, if i can pay that plus the money i save every week into a mortgage (around £40k) i can pay it off in 4 years, renting (assuming rent doesn't go up) would cost me £25k in that time so a no brainer for me.

will be adding £50 tomorrow :)

Why not take the 44 pound back out of savings?

That way we both win. You get 44 pound extra and my OCD doesn't flare up seeing totals not rounded off :rotfl: :)
  • Wooo Hooo It's pay day finally, and now i'm skint again!!

Just like to say booking a boarding holiday back in Oct wasn't my greatest idea! now having to pay for it..... But hey ho can't put life completly on hold right??

So due to the up and coming Holiday my saving mission has taken a turn for the worse, The total now is £7,030 Didn't hit the target of 8k by nye. But at least if I drop down dead tomorrow I have no regrets and some great memories....

havn't set a target for 2012 as of yet, just want to get past April first then go into mega saving mode as this will be after car tax, holiday, MOT, Service........ and I've worked out I can save £500 at least a mth then :)

Hey guys, congrats on how much you're all saving!! :)

I've just set up a standing order from my current account to my savings of £250 per month, and then if I end up with any left at the end of the month I can add a bit more, but thought I'd be conservative to start with. We're having to move rental properties within the next couple of months so want to make sure I have enough for deposits etc. Can't wait till we can buy somewhere of our own!
