Ah I like your thinking Simon 11 and iwantahome
Alas G & K are money savey! they got a sofa on buy now pay x date, during time of having sofa del and x date they saved up the monies and paid off the full amount on x date! instead of having the intrest payment plan start on x date like most people opt for
One thing they do have against them is childrenbut alas I am godmother to their youngest so I can't get out of present buying
But liking your thinking I will own more of house in shorter time
North West I can only dream of those house prices..... Any amount over £10 is a large amount to me.....Aspiring to be financially independent.... from my parents!0 -
i've been looking at difeerent ways to save and my 2 new stratagies is emptying my bank to the nearest £10 every fri, and setting up a standing order for £50 every monday so £50 went in this morning
then after my rents and other bills paid i'll send over any surplus

no i'm going to do an acual sealed pot (as in one of those big tins from poundland) after xmas for all my£5(these aren't that common now aparently) £1 and 50p but this will be going to next years heating oil rather than my savings, however that will stop me taking £500 out of my savings next year so all goodi nosey at most threads on here even in forums i don't technically belong in (like mfw and dfw)
a sealed pot challenge is where you save all yoru change and don't take it out, a virtural one is just doing it online, you can find the concept here

I have to hold my hand up to lurking on the MFW and dreaming of joining them too. Although I do feel a bit weird about wishing I was in debt to the tune of probably £100k. somehow it just doesn't feel right, even though I know it has to happen if I want to eventually own my own retirement property. I'm looking on it as renting from the bank until retirement but hopefully sooner.DFD: 23/12/20100
