Happy new year everyone!
I have now reached 2/3 of my target thanks to interest wooo! However it's not my final target, it's only one for the meantime... real target is probably £50k as a 3-bed semi round here will def be £200k, and OH will hopefully be contributing something lol
Happy saving to all :AExcuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -
Hello everyone, i'll be joining you too if that's okay.
I'm also saving for my first property deposit, the plan was to save with my bf but i'm unsure how much as of yet, def at least £600 per month, would be nice to save around the 1k mark but we shall see.
All the best everyone x0 -
I keep coming back to this thread saying im in, im in! But keep on drifting away again! Now im part of the make £11k in 2011 challenge, i am aiming for £12k (see sig) and im keeping it all in a 5% interest account(santander)....so hopefully i will manage to reach that goal and keep every penny in there so im posting here in a year saying right now iv got £12k and rising, so does gf, whats my next move? Il be keeping a close eye on the property market so when it does come to buy il know what sort of properties i can get and at what prices...also know what i can make as cheap offer on as theres a few been on the market a while just now, they are all under offer....
So £12k this year then £8k first half of next year...ready for summer 2012 moving out!!Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

I now have over 1/3rd of my target! :T
To be fair, I didn't save all this myself - I got £10k inheritance from my grandad's estate as his house was sold last month. So I've put £8k into my savings and am using the other £2k for a trip to Australia in February:www: Saving for a deposit - Target £30k by 24/03/14 (30th Birthday!) :www:
Current Savings - £18,153.11 / 60.51%0 -
I want to join please :j
I joined once before, but then blew the money on a new car under the scrappage scheme
The cars all paid for now so I am ready to save. I am out of work at the minutebut hoping something will turn up soon.
I can't live at home anymore, this Christmas has made me realise that! I love my Mum and Dad to bits but I need my own space! We registered our interest for some new houses that are been built locally just before xmas so it really is time to start saving, even if it is just a little from surveys etc for the moment.
I opened myself my first ever ISA last night, just waiting for it all to be set up. Once I get the hang of it I am opening one for the OH too. He is rubbish with money, but I am hoping once he can see if piling up he might become a bit more interested. He is still trying to save to get his car paid off but if at least one of us can at least get the house deposit saving underway I will be happy.
Oooh I am so excited :j:j0 -
Sold some things on eBay which increased my total to 53%... still along way to go! So many things I want in the sales as well lol.0

Yep and January is even worse as I got paid earlier in December. Still another 3 1/2 weeks until paydaySaving for a house deposit and associated costs:
£7750/£30000 = 25.83%0 -
I was like that last year as I had only just started but now I have a fair amount I'm less inclined to look to the next pay day. Although this month I've had a 5 week wait0
