Well, our deposit has dissapeared. Quite sad really, bit like losing and old friend. We complete on our house in 2weeks, which is nice, although the thought of a mortgage is somewhat of a scary thought. We both work, the mortgage came in at 4 times single salary so not TOO bad, although I was hoping for smaller.

Home is to die for, although it needs significant work over the next year or so, not least because it has an annex attracting seperate council tax. Not great! So, to get round it, we need to rip out a kitchen or a bathroom at best, worst, need to knock through some walls.

After 4 years saving, I promise you, its hard to let go of!

Congrats!!! :T I also find it traumatic thinking of the day when we finally buy and our savings total reduces to zero.:rotfl:

:j Well done, that's such great news :j

Actually, that's the bit I'm not looking forward too ~ giving up the money! But that's what we're all saving for, it must feel really weird having no money suddenly, like a sudden death . I do wish you both all the best, and hope you'll be happy in your new home for many years to come :A

    Hi Everyone

Been quite a while since I last posted on this thread

I wiped out my savings at the start of March to pay for a new car as my old one was beginning to cost me a fortune in repairs and I need a reliable for work as I have children in my car daily.

I then bought a DSLR camera for my Photography course at college.

So now I am back :D:D

My BOS Monthly saver has been replaced by the Santander 1st homebuyer saver account giving 5% interest and was opened today.
I still have my 3% A&L account and like it for putting in my babysitting money into.

So I now have £447 saved, hoping for at least £20K in the next few years.

    Hi everyone

Hope everyone is doing well on the savings front! :)

I've just paid the last of the holiday off the credit card, so the rest of my pay that i have not spent has gone into savings. I put £800 into this months savings, so i now have a total of £17,816.49! It would be really nice to have £25,000 by the end of the year, but we will see what happens :D

I dont think I will be saving much this month - have spent loads this month already! Hopefully I will be able to save £500 this month.......

I have added another £48 to my savings this week from babysitting.

At the moment I am putting half of my babysitting money into my house savings and the other half is going to pay off my CC that I have run up a bit but it is managable.

Hello all! I'm new to this thread.:j

I'm hoping to save £30,000 for a deposit. I'm currently training to be an accountant and my target date is a year after I qualify, also happens to be exactly when my boyfriend will qualify as he's the year below me.

The aim is to have enough to buy a nice 3 bed semi with my boyfriend, or a 1 or 2 bed flat on my own - got to plan for all eventualities right?? :A
Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard
