Another member of the hurry up payday club here.
Just got my weekly Rightmove e mail and there's a gorgeous flat on there not the three bed I was dreaming off but very spacious rooms. I don't even know why I'm bothering to look as I can't buy it till I sell my place
Think I'm going to shift my ISA account today - think I may be moving to a slightly lower rate but I like being able to access it online. Hate not knowing exactly what's whenever I want to know.0 -

I work on a calendar month pretty much as payday is the last day of the month give or take weekends. I just really like payday as it's the day I move my surplus cash into my savings (and pay my credit card)0

Being freelance I don't have a specific/set payday so I tend to either transfer as money comes in or more likely, just after the beginning of a month as that's when most of my direct debits are scheduled to be taken out.ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -
I transfer what i have left over at the end of the month, usually when it is pay day. i always leave £750 in my account as if i desperately need something then i have money there
dont think i will be saving much this month, as i have had 3 big family birthdays and i am going on holiday at the end of the month - im so excited!!!

I treat each month as running from 27th to 26th - e.g. February for me will be from 27th Jan when I get paid until 26th Feb. Then March starts on 27th Feb! It seems confusing I guess, but it works ok in my budgeting spreadsheets.
Also, it means I have a nice healthy balance in my current account for a couple of days, until all my direct debits and standing orders come out on the 1st!:www: Saving for a deposit - Target £30k by 24/03/14 (30th Birthday!) :www:

Ditto - my direct debits come out on the 1st and then car payment goes out on the 4th!

Hello everyone. I'm new here so I've just been trying to catch up on all the posts!! I have to say it's great seeing everyone updating their savings progress. It's rather inspiring!! Well done to everyone who is saving at the moment too. I'm in the same boat as you all. Saving for the deposit on my first house. I haven't got a target as such yet, but I'm sure I'll come up with one. And I'll update my savings progress shortly too!0
