  • hey everyone, added another £600 to my total. Now im getting pretty close to my target of £5000 by new year.

My laptop is pretty broken though so may have to fork out for a new one and looks likely that i'll need to rent somewhere new because the job looks set to continue. Which is all good just need to spend quite a bit of money soon so it may dent my savings, will keep at it though.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Just a little update to pop my head in the door :D

I emptied my change jar this week and had just over £198 :j. Managed to bank £180 of it and the rest is waiting to be made up into full bags.

I've been doing quite well on amazon and ebay these last few weeks, but I'll be stopping that for my annual "christmas break" (I don't sell things between mid Dec and Feb as most people have hardly any money left after Christmas )

Well that's it for now, slow and steady!

Wow Clearing_out_my_pockets you do move quick! Bets of luck! We've changes tack a bit, we found out we can release money from OH's buy-tol-et flat - its under 50% loan to value so we thought we might take advantage of this and try to get something over the winter when the market is quiet.......unfotunately so far the things we like which are within range seem to have quite big draw backs ...one had a massive electricity pylon in the back garden!
Mortgage as at March 2010 £225,000 target for December 2012 £170,000. Blog link http://beautifulorpractical.blogspot.com/2010/07/oh-this-is-all-new.html :j
  • Just checked my account and now up to £3559 with girlfriend due to put her £550 in tomorrow. Still a long way to go unfortunately, but it's a start.
  • Woo Hoo! Mortgage underwriters have agreed to the mortgage! Our solicitor has received draft contracts from the sellers' solicitors. And to think that two weeks ago, none of this had really started!

Wow fast work clearing_out when I'm finally able to move I imagine I'll have to move fairly quickly so your post gives me hope.

Hit my target of £10000 savings a month early which is great. Don't know if to set myself another target or just keep on going with the general aim of get as much as possible.

When I set my mind to do something, I steam ahead and do it. We're even paying a slight premium to rush the conveyancing through. The mortgage offer we've got comes with free conveyancing, but we've not taken it. The solicitors that Nationwide use are often in the North of the country whereas we're south east. We'd rather have the comfort of being able to go in in person to sort out any problems / sign paperwork immediately rather than relying on post.

The rush isn't actually due to stamp duty (although we would benefit if it's done before christmas). Our vendors are buying a repossession so THEY need a quick sale. Our mortgage advisor has been fantastic right from the word go.
