It is hard guys but you're doing the right thing by staying at home and saving the money, it'll get you there alot faster!
I moved back home a year and a half ago out of rented just to save for a deposit, my fiance moved back in with her mum and we spend half the week at mine and half at hers. Its a nightmare! we just want our own space and its been a loooooong year but we're finally there. Dont have an exchange date for the house yet but we're pretty close (i hope the survey goes well!).
There is light at the end so keep thinking of the end goal whilst your parents are doing your head in :A. Good luck allMFW - <£90kAll other debts cleared thanks to the knowledge gained from this wonderful website and its users!0 -

I dont think they have actually sold their house it was on the market for about 20k more than similar houses around here, been on the market since march 08 at the same price so they obviously dont need to sell I think they have withdrawn due to lack of interest so they may not be interested in the price we want to offer. I think you are all right though we dont have anything to lose. Congrats on keeping up the savingMoved in 12/09 Mortgage 126K0 -

Dippykitty you and I are in the same boat, feeling you want to move but do not have the funds yet to do so
We will both get there eventually!!
Hi All
I cant remember if i've joined this thread already but I'll join again if you guys don't mind.
The above quote sums my situation off perfectly. I NEED to move out as I need space cos my room is sooo teeny. I have too much stuff, (which i'm trying to get rid off on ebay) but i don't seem to be shifting it quick enough. It seems as if i've been collecting for my "house" for a few years and my room is now full of stuff that will be perfect for when I move.
I think i've got another 6-8months of saving to reach my target and it seems like forever!"Dance like nobody's watching; love like you've never been hurt. Sing like nobody's listening; live like its heaven on earth." - Mark Twain0 -
I haven't posted in a very long time, mainly due to the fact that my savings are coming along really slowly.
I'm up to just over 32% of my first goal, but just under 11% of my preferred goal.
I don't think I'm going to be able to get to the magic 50% by the end of the year, unless a miracle happens!!
Well done everyone who has reached their targets :T

Worked out today we should be up to 31.67% by New Year, and a nice round 60% by the time we get married next September. We've made the somewhat scary decision not to look for a house before the wedding, and hope we get some money instead of wedding presents meaning we can start to look shortly after we come back from honeymoon. Not our prefered situation obviously, but we have the rest of our lives, a few months inconvenience staying with my parents in the short term is an acceptable compromise, rather than overstretching outselves with the mortgage.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Hi all
I'll be adding very little to my savings at the end of this month... got a big hol coming up, just been on a couple of Euro weekend trips and have to buy currency for the big hol. But I've budgeted and planned for it all and am still on target to hit £30k by the end of the year.

Hello all!
Im up to 61% of my 20k target now
Got a bit of a decision to make now..wonder if you lovely folks could help. I have now worked at my current job for 6 months and therefore am elligable to start a company pension. If i put in 5% of my salary, they will put in 7.5% which seems pretty good.
I am currently 23, living with my parents and saving for my own house. Do you think i should start my pension? It would be £100 less i can save every month.
